Samsung Galaxy S25: Price, Release Date, and Feature Rumours
29 October 2024
The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 might still be a little while off, but I bet you’re already wondering whether it’s gonna be a big step up from the S24, right? We’ve had a good hunt around for all the most interesting bits of info we could find about the next flagship, so you don’t have to!
Samsung Galaxy S25 Release Date:
Right, let’s tackle the key question first – when will the Samsung Galaxy S25 be released? Well, if we look at Samsung’s track record, we can make an educated guess.
Samsung typically release their Galaxy S series handsets in the first quarter of each year.
Earlier in 2024, the first official announcement about the S24 came on the third Wednesday in January, so if they follow suit next year with the S25, it’ll be announced on Wednesday 15th January 2025.
The release date for the Galaxy S25 is likely going to be on or around Wednesday 29th January 2025. Hopefully gives you just enough time to start saving before the glorious pre-order countdown begins!

Samsung Galaxy S25 Price:
While no one knows the exact price yet, we can make an educated guess.
The Galaxy S24 debuted with price tags ranging from “expensive” to “hiring Central Cee to perform at your wedding” levels, and we expect similar in 2025.
If they follow the trends of the last couple of years, we reckon the Galaxy S25 base model will cost £799, the Galaxy S25 Plus £999, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra a whopping £1,249.
While those are some hefty price-tags, Samsung Galaxy devices are usually at the absolute bleeding-edge of mobile design and technology, so you do tend to get what you pay for.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Design:
For a glimpse into the future, we asked ChatGPT what it thought the Galaxy S25 might look like, and here’s what it came back with:
Is it fanciful to think Samsung’s next flagship will have 7 identical camera lenses on the back? Maybe. But you won’t hear me criticising AI! No siree. I, for one, welcome any and all input from our benevolent digital overlords (hail Skynet!).
Rumour has it that Samsung is trying to reduce the weight and thickness of their devices more noticeably this year, so a lighter, sleeker Galaxy handset could be on the cards.
Leaks also suggest that the S25 will feature an even larger edge-to-edge display, which will be a challenge since the S24 was already exceptionally refined in this regard. A bezel-free design would be a sight to behold, but we’re not sure if that’s on the cards this year.
The phone will likely have a frosted glass back (which may or may not be a fingerprint magnet) and come in a range of colours, including classic black, white, and some shiny new hues like “Glacier-Blue” or “Dull-Monday-In-Gosport-Grey.”
Oh, and there’s no headphone jack – which probably isn’t the end of the world because we basically all use wireless headphones now, right?
Features: What’s New?
Every year, Samsung adds at least one or two big new features that they hope will spice up your life, but what could they throw into the mix with the S25?
We’re certain there will be a huge focus on pushing Galaxy AI this year, and it’ll be interesting to see whether Samsung or Apple come out on top in this area. It seems like Apple might be slightly ahead currently, with their recent claims about how secure their AI data usage and collection will be, but Samsung will likely be stepping their game up considerably too.
The AI will integrate into everything from the camera to battery management too, and this will almost certainly lead to some noticeable improvements and efficiencies in performance. Huzzah!
Speaking of cameras, because no one’s ever satisfied with just three lenses, the S25 could feature a versatile multi-purpose six-camera front and back setup. Yes, that’s right, six. The expected upgrades include a 200MP primary sensor and an advanced version of their periscope telephoto lens.
Other rumours include an under-display selfie camera, because who wouldn’t want their screen to look spotless while they take their 119th selfie of the day?
And don’t forget about 5G! An upgraded modem will likely result in better performance in terms of speed, coverage and efficiency. Great stuff!
